Founded in 1892, Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Club is a traditional members club and event and function venue located on Pickeridge Hill in the Blackdown Hills, just 4 miles away from Taunton in Somerset.
In January 2015 Commsplus provided Samsung's Wireless Enterprise Wi Fi network Solution to the Club as part of a fully integrated voice and data solution. In particular the club's Wi Fi facilities were weak. Mark Readman, the General Manager wanted to offer existing club members a reliable internet service as well as provide first class broadband to attract business clients seeking a corporate event venue. We asked him to comment on the previous system, he said "There were times when Corporate customers and Members both wanted to use Wi Fi at the same time and the system just got overloaded. People were being thrown out of the network".
We asked him to sum up how things had changed since the installation of the new system. He continued, "We can now charge business customers for guaranteed service" adding, "We don't lose Corporate business now. Before, we couldn't offer the service so potential customers were taking their business elsewhere. Now we're a lot more confident in what we have to offer. It does what it says on the tin, the system we had before was nowhere near as strong".
